Accenture Study: Docs Heading to Hospitals Survey says more U.S. doctors are leaving private practices

An increasing number of U.S. doctors are expected to leave private practice for hospital employment over the next 18 months, due to rising costs and technology mandates, according to a new report from Accenture.

In addition, by the end of 2013, Accenture also says that one-in-three doctors remaining independent will offer patients subscription-based services, such as telemedicine
or online consultations, for sustaining profit. That trend is expected to increase three-fold over the next three years, according to the study—The Accenture Physician Alignment Survey.
