Coca-Cola Enterprises is a producer, distributor, and marketer of Coca-Cola products, with revenues in excess of $22 billion and over 72,000 employees around the world. To help facilitate company communication, the company sought a brand-centric, global portal to allow employees to engage with the site and share multimedia information with each other on a worldwide basis.
Additional requirements included: A secure location for housing thousands of documents and videos; Multilingual capabilities and access for over 10,000 remote workers via kiosk; A world-class portal that would free the company from its current system and server maintenance headaches.
Slalom Consulting provided strategic insight on Microsoft SharePoint and cloud hosting, and delivered the core technical development and performance testing for the project, supporting Coca-Cola Enterprises in partnership with Microsoft Consulting Services. Slalom architected and built a rich, interactive site aligned with SharePoint best practices, with features including: The ability to host shared assemblies, advanced search, video on demand, and social networking; Scalability, based on advanced load and performance testing, to ensure the site could accommodate thousands of concurrent users; and, Seamless transition to cloud hosting in the Microsoft Service Organization data center.
Since its launch, Slalom’s new SharePoint employee portal for Coca-Cola Enterprises: Has created a global collaborative environment leveraging the portal’s out-of-the-box functionality combined with custom development; Provides a strategic internal communication platform with thousands of communications, articles and videos, accessible across a global network; Has improved productivity through intuitive usability and navigation, powerful search, and detailed metrics.
