It's a tough time to fly—and it might be an even tougher time to find a flight. American Airlines, United Airlines, Continental Airlines and others have announced flight schedule reductions as cost-saving measures by the end of the year.

The Capacity Crunch It's a tough time to fly—and it might be an even tougher time to find a flight. American Airlines, United Airlines, Continental Airlines and others have announced flight schedule reductions as cost-saving measures by the end of the year.

Here's a rundown of some of the more notable cuts:

American: Included in American's first round of flight reductions is the discontinuation of daily flight service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and London's Stansted Airport. It also is discontinuing service from Boston to San Diego.
