Robert Olsen is Managing Director at Hilco Global Cyber Advisors. Robert has over 30 years of experience as a cybersecurity-focused entrepreneur, CIO, CISO and executive consultant. Robert earned an MS and MBA from Johns Hopkins University's Carey Business School. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP). Additionally, Robert has achieved the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Carnegie Mellon.
Robert is a past board member of the Maryland InfraGard chapter and has taught graduate cybersecurity risk management courses at Johns Hopkins University. Robert has won numerous awards and recognitions over the years from Inc. Magazine, Baltimore Business Journal, 2023 Cybersecurity Service Provider of the Year, 2024 Top Cybersecurity Consultants and Leaders Consulting Report, and the most recent award by Consulting Magazine as one of the 2025 Top Cybersecurity Consultants.
Robert is a nationally certified emergency medical technician, volunteer firefighter and member of a wilderness search and rescue team. Early in his career Robert served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division. Robert is active in several non-profit organizations to include Child Crisis Center Uganda, Archdiocese of Baltimore and Mobile Medics International.
