Pyxis Group and Principia Consulting partner to expand energy advisory and CTRM services.
Collaboration aims to provide a seamless end-to-end solution for global energy and commodity markets, spanning from strategy and M&A to system implementation.
Houston-based Pyxis Group and Principia Consulting have formed a strategic joint venture to serve the global commodity and energy markets. The partnership combines Pyxis's advisory and mergers and acquisitions expertise with Principia's specialized Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) implementation capabilities.
For Pyxis Group, the venture leverages a background in business transformation, M&A, and artificial intelligence. The firm brings specific expertise in the midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, having advised on various acquisitions and divestitures across refining, terminaling, distribution, and supply and trading operations. This experience is designed to help clients not only execute deals but also integrate and optimize businesses post-transaction.
Principia Consulting contributes its reputation as a leading CTRM implementation specialist. The firm is recognized for its work with platforms such as Aspect, Openlink Endur, RightAngle, and Allegro, serving sectors including energy, agriculture, and metals trading. The addition of RightAngle expertise particularly strengthens the venture's ability to serve liquid hydrocarbon and midstream clients where that platform is a standard.
"The commodity and energy markets have never been more complex, and clients are telling us they need a partner who can do more than one thing well," said Matt Flanagan, Partner at Pyxis Group. He noted that combining Principia's implementation depth with Pyxis's M&A and organizational change management creates an integrated solution previously unavailable from a single partner.
The joint venture significantly expands the global footprint for both firms. Principia maintains offices in Dubai, Singapore, and India, while Pyxis provides a strong presence in North America and Europe. Together, the firms cover major commodity trading hubs across the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and the West, offering services ranging from operating model design to AI-enabled trade lifecycle automation.
Under the new arrangement, Principia clients gain access to Pyxis's M&A and AI-driven process innovation services at the earliest stages of engagement. Conversely, Pyxis clients will benefit from Principia's global track record in technology implementation. Doug Gyani, CEO and founder of Principia Consulting, stated the partnership is built around meeting specific client needs across a wider range of sectors and geographies than either firm could reach alone.
