Professional services firm CrossCountry Consulting has announced the elevation of its current co-presidents, Neil Smith and Amy Bjarnason, to the roles of co-chief executive officers. The planned leadership transition, effective June 15, will see cofounder and CEO Erik Linn move into the role of executive chairman.

In their new roles, Smith and Bjarnason will jointly drive firm-wide strategy and key decision-making, including the continued advancement of CrossCountry's artificial intelligence initiatives. Smith will focus specifically on the firm's advisory practice, while Bjarnason will oversee business operations and people functions.

"Elevating Neil and Amy to co-CEOs is a natural progression that recognizes their outstanding leadership and collaborative dynamic," Linn stated. "This structure allows us to capitalize on their complementary skillsets and diverse perspectives, leading to sharper decision-making."

As executive chairman, Linn will dedicate his efforts to the long-term strategic positioning of the firm. His focus will shift toward attracting top-tier partner talent, pursuing strategic acquisitions (M&A), and enhancing the firm's market presence to ensure it remains at the forefront of the business advisory industry.

Both Smith and Bjarnason joined the firm in 2011. Smith brings over 25 years of experience in optimizing finance and accounting functions and has held previous consulting roles at Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint. Bjarnason, who joined as chief operating officer, has over 30 years of experience in consulting and operations, having previously served in leadership positions at Navigant, EY, and Arthur Andersen.

Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, CrossCountry Consulting serves Fortune 500 companies and private equity sponsors with specialized advisory and technology solutions. The leadership shift is intended to align the firm's structure with its ambitious growth trajectory and the evolving needs of its client base.
