Cherry Bekaert's strategic acquisition strengthens presence in Texas and Tennessee.
Deal integrates the Houston-based firm's talent and industry depth into Cherry Bekaert's growing national professional services platform and reinforces its investment in the Texas and Nashville markets, enhancing scale across real estate, energy, and private equity sectors.
Professional services firm Cherry Bekaert has announced the acquisition of Calvetti Ferguson, P.C., a Houston-headquartered accounting and advisory firm. The move significantly expands Cherry Bekaert's footprint in Texas and strengthens its position in the Nashville, Tennessee, market, reinforcing the firm's ongoing investment in both regions.
Founded in 2003, Calvetti Ferguson provides services to middle-market clients across several key sectors, including real estate and construction, energy, oil and gas, and private equity. The firm also maintains offices in Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio, providing Cherry Bekaert with a broader geographic reach across the Southwest and Mid-South.
"This acquisition is a significant step forward in our strategy to serve the middle-market as trusted advisors known for digitally driven, industry-aligned solutions," said Michelle Thompson, CEO of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC. She noted that Texas is central to the firm's growth story and that the Calvetti Ferguson team brings the necessary talent and cultural alignment to accelerate that momentum.
Jason Ferguson, Managing Partner of Calvetti Ferguson, emphasized that joining the larger organization expands the capabilities and resources available to their clients and communities. "Our firms share a strong cultural alignment rooted in a people-first mindset and a commitment to quality," Ferguson stated, adding that the combined entity is well-positioned to deliver greater value across their shared industries.
As part of the transaction, Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC acquired Calvetti Ferguson's nonattest assets, while Cherry Bekaert LLP acquired the attest assets. Calvetti Ferguson will be seamlessly integrated into the firm and will operate under the Cherry Bekaert brand. The deal follows a period of significant growth for the Firm, which recently climbed to the #17 spot on Accounting Today's 2026 Top 100 Firms list.
The combined firm now boasts enhanced scale in specialized areas such as financial services, manufacturing, and technology. By leveraging its alternative practice structure, Cherry Bekaert continues to position itself as a major player in the national landscape, offering a comprehensive suite of tax, business advisory, and attest services to an international client base.
