Move bolsters the firm's Tax practice leadership as it seeks to navigate complex growth for middle-market and enterprise clients.

Anthony Sciarra, Partner-in-Charge of Tax, Armanino.

National tax and accounting firm Armanino has appointed Anthony Sciarra as Partner-in-Charge of Tax, effective June 1. In his new role, Sciarra will lead the firm's largest service area, overseeing strategy, growth, and operations for a national team of professionals serving middle-market, high-growth, and enterprise clients.

Sciarra joins the firm from PwC, where he held senior tax leadership roles focused on growth strategy and tax transformation, including advising major financial services institutions. His career spans more than 20 years of leadership, including previous senior roles at AIG and Enstar Group, where he managed complex tax functions for large, globally active organizations.

"We're at an important moment for Armanino's Tax practice, and Anthony is the right leader for where we're going," said Matt Armanino, CEO of Armanino Advisory LLC. "He has led large-scale organizations through meaningful transformation, and he brings a people-first approach that fits our culture."

Sciarra's experience covers the spectrum of tax strategy, organizational transformation, and client service. He noted that the firm's combination of technical expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit was a primary draw. "I'm looking forward to building on that foundation and working with the talented teams here to drive what's next," Sciarra stated.

The appointment is part of a broader set of leadership moves within the practice. Caleb Crandell is expanding his role to oversee core middle-market Tax services, including the Privately Held Business, Real Estate, Not-for-Profit, and Private Equity practice groups. Based in Denver, Crandell brings prior experience as a Tax Partner at BDO USA and Anton Collins Mitchell, as well as senior roles at Moss Adams.

Armanino's Tax practice currently includes more than 800 professionals across 30 office locations. As Sciarra takes the lead, existing Tax leadership members David Miller, Jon Davies, and John Karls will continue in their respective roles to support the firm's national strategy.
