Former Equifax executive and McKinsey alum succeeds Patrick Olson, who moves into a Vice Chairman role at the governance, risk, and compliance solutions provider.
ACA Group (ACA) has appointed Trey Loughran as its new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Loughran succeeds Patrick Olson, who has led the firm since May 2023.
As part of the leadership transition, Olson will move into the role of Vice Chairman. In this capacity, he will focus on supporting key institutional client relationships and representing the firm at key industry forums. Ben Brigeman, Chairman of the Board of ACA Group, noted that Olson's knowledge of the client base and industry standing will remain a "valuable asset" during the leadership change.
Loughran brings more than three decades of experience across financial services, data analytics, and technology-enabled services to the role. Most recently, he served as CEO of Purchasing Power, where he oversaw a business transformation and subsequent sale to PROG Holdings. His career also includes a 12-year tenure at Equifax, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Chief Marketing Officer and President of its U.S. Information Solutions business unit.
His professional foundation includes time at McKinsey & Company and Lazard, as well as a background in legal practice. Loughran holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The appointment comes as ACA Group seeks to capitalize on the increasing complexity of the regulatory landscape and the industry shift toward technology-enabled compliance solutions. Sid Ramakrishnan, Managing Director of lead investor Genstar Capital, stated that Loughran's operating experience and track record of building high-performing teams make him the right leader for the firm's "next chapter" of capturing growth in operational resilience.
