Strategic expansion aims to enhance the firm's capabilities in navigating complex AI laws, data privacy regulations, and evolving cybersecurity threats.
Professional services firm FTI Consulting has announced the appointment of 10 senior leaders to its Technology segment, significantly expanding the firm's capabilities in cybersecurity, data privacy, and information governance. The cohort includes five Senior Managing Directors and five Managing Directors across key U.S. markets, including Washington, D.C., Chicago, New York, Charlotte, and Miami.
The hires come at a time when organizations are facing "unprecedented digital exposure" and increasingly "operational and regulatory complexities," according to Anthony J. Ferrante, Global Head of the Cybersecurity practice at FTI Consulting. Sophie Ross, Global CEO of the Technology segment, noted that the expansion is designed to help clients navigate exponential data growth and complex rules such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), GDPR, and the emerging EU AI Act.
Among the new Senior Managing Directors is Akshay Dhawan, based in Washington, D.C., who brings over 20 years of experience in cloud security and AI systems. Joining him is Chicago-based David Manek, an expert in regulatory change management and AI compliance, and Matt McClelland in Charlotte, who specializes in next-generation operating model design, modernized policy development, and defensible data deletion.
In New York, Ankur Sheth joins as Senior Managing Director to focus on cybersecurity strategy and risk management, guiding clients through architecture and program execution. Also appointed as Senior Managing Director is Colleen M. Yushchak in Washington, D.C., who brings 25 years of experience in global privacy and compliance programs. Both leaders previously held practice leadership roles at other global consulting firms.
The firm also bolstered its leadership with five new Managing Directors. Mir Ali (Chicago) and David Farber (Charlotte) join to focus on data governance and privacy platform implementation. Emily Cohen (Chicago) brings nearly two decades of expertise in tracking technologies and forensic investigations, while Matt Flora (New York) focuses on cybersecurity risk for private equity clients. Kenric Tom (Miami) rounds out the group with a focus on AI regulatory compliance and digital risk.
The investment reflects FTI Consulting's continued growth as it addresses the intersection of law, technology, and risk. With more than 8,100 employees globally, the firm generated $3.80 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2025, positioning itself as a primary resource for organizations navigating large-scale digital transformations and shifting regulatory landscapes.
