Forensic specialists Sabera Choudhury and Faizal Karim join BRG's investigations practice.

Additions bring over 50 years of combined experience in complex global investigations and forensic accounting to the firm's Chicago and New York offices.

Global consulting firm BRG has strengthened its Forensic Accounting and Investigations practice with the appointment of Sabera Choudhury as a managing director and Faizal Karim as a director. The hires underscore the firm's focus on expanding its capacity to handle complex, cross-border investigations and high-stakes disputes.

Based in Chicago and London, Choudhury brings more than 25 years of experience to the firm. She specializes in forensic investigations involving fraud, corruption, and enforcement actions. Throughout her career, which includes a tenure at a Big Four accounting firm in London, she has led global matters across Europe and Asia, leveraging advanced data analytics to resolve sophisticated litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.

Karim, who is based in New York City, joined the practice earlier this year with over 25 years of experience in the field. His background includes performing special audit committee investigations, fraud accounting assignments, and internal control assessments related to economic sanctions and anti-money laundering. He also provides expertise in merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory services and compliance assessments.

"Sabera and Faizal bring deep experience leading complex, cross-border forensic investigations and advising clients through high-stakes litigation and enforcement matters," said Ray Kolls, Forensic Accounting and Investigations Practice Group Leader and coleader of BRG's Economics, Disputes & Investigations service line. Kolls noted that their ability to combine data analytics with actionable insights is critical for clients navigating increasing regulatory scrutiny and risk.

Choudhury cited BRG's multidisciplinary approach and global platform as key factors in her decision to join the firm, noting that the firm's capabilities position it well to help clients navigate high-stakes investigation and litigation matters. Karim expressed similar enthusiasm, highlighting the opportunity to reunite with former Big Four partners within the BRG team.

Choudhury holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in economics from Barnard College, Columbia University. Karim earned his BA in business administration with a focus on accounting and finance from the University of Washington.
