Former Prudential and Discovery executive will lead global communications strategy and stakeholder engagement for the firm.

Global advisory firm Spencer Stuart has appointed Bill Launder as its first-ever Chief Communications Officer. Based in New York, Launder takes on the newly created role effective immediately as part of the firm's effort to bolster its market leadership and global brand presence.
In his new capacity, Launder is tasked with leading Spencer Stuart's global communications strategy. His focus will include elevating the firm's voice, strengthening its reputation, and deepening engagement with clients and stakeholders across the more than 30 countries where the firm operates.
"Bill's combination of in-house corporate communications experience, advisory perspective and newsroom instinct will be instrumental in strengthening how we tell our story," said Jordan Brugg, Chief Executive Officer of Spencer Stuart. "We operate at the intersection of talent and strategy, and how we communicate our insights and impact is increasingly important."
Launder joins the firm from Prudential Financial, where he served as Head of Corporate Communications, overseeing media relations, executive messaging, and crisis preparedness. His previous experience includes a tenure as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Discovery, Inc. and a role at the Brunswick Group, where he advised Fortune 500 clients on reputation management and financial communications.
Before transitioning to corporate communications, Launder spent several years as a journalist. He served as a foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal in Germany, covering the European debt crisis and the central bank, and worked in the Paris bureau of The New York Times. He holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
