Deal combines Chatham's capital markets technology with Hodes Weill's specialized expertise in real estate and infrastructure.

Chatham Financial, an independent capital markets advisory firm, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Hodes Weill & Associates, a global capital advisory firm specializing in real estate, infrastructure, and other real assets. The transaction is slated to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Following the close, the acquired firm will operate under the name Hodes Weill & Associates, a Chatham Financial Company. Founders David Hodes and Doug Weill are set to join Chatham's executive leadership team, reporting directly to CEO Matt Henry. Both Hodes and Weill are also expected to become significant shareholders in the employee-owned firm, and the entire Hodes Weill team is expected to join Chatham.

The move is designed to bolster Chatham's value proposition for real assets firms by combining complementary service offerings and networks. "Hodes Weill's specialized expertise and deep relationships with the most senior executives across real assets... will further enhance and extend Chatham's global platform," said Matt Henry, CEO of Chatham Financial. He noted that the partnership will provide clients with seamless access to solutions across the entire capital stack.

Founded in 1991, Chatham Financial serves more than 4,500 companies through 12 offices worldwide, handling $2 trillion in annual transaction volume. The firm's technology-driven approach unifies data across assets, debt, and derivatives, and its debt management platform currently maintains $2.9 trillion of commercial real estate debt. Amol Dhargalkar, Chairman of Chatham's Board of Directors, emphasized that the combination meets a growing client demand for expertise paired with advanced technology solutions.

Since its inception in 2009, Hodes Weill has advised fund managers and institutional investors on strategies focused on real estate, digital infrastructure, and energy transition. The firm has advised on the private placement of approximately $33 billion of capital and provides strategic counsel on M&A, GP-led recapitalizations, and restructuring. The firm maintains a global presence with offices in New York, Hong Kong, London, Amsterdam, and Tokyo.

David Hodes highlighted the synergy between the two firms, noting that the combination pairs independent advice with market-leading data and analytics. "Leveraging Chatham's impressive track record of technology innovation and strategic investment, we are well-positioned to expand our service offering, capturing new opportunities in an increasingly global and rapidly evolving market," Hodes stated.
