Led by former FTI Consulting alum Rob Mindell, the new offering aims to help organizations navigate periods of heightened scrutiny and mitigate reputational risk alongside the firm's core advisory services.
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has launched a new Reputation Advisory practice. Based in London, the dedicated team is designed to help organizations maintain control and preserve value during periods of intense public and regulatory scrutiny. The practice will focus on engaging corporate stakeholders, identifying reputational risks, and providing crisis counsel.

Rob Mindell has been appointed as a Managing Director to lead the build-out of the new practice. An expert in strategic communications and media, Mindell joins the firm from FTI Consulting, where he previously co-led the London Crisis & Disputes practice. Throughout his career, he has advised boards and executives on landmark restructuring and litigation cases, as well as M&A transactions with an aggregate value exceeding £25 billion.
The new practice will operate in close coordination with A&M's established units, including Restructuring, Disputes, Transactions, and Transformation. This integrated approach aims to support clients navigating disruption and complex stakeholder environments where traditional operational advice meets the need for precise, intelligence-driven communication.
"A&M's Reputation Advisory practice preserves and enhances value in situations where perceptions can radically change outcomes for an organisation and its people," Mindell said. He noted that these high-stakes mandates require communication delivered at pace, making the firm's operational heritage and "no-nonsense approach" a fit for the new offering.
Richard Fleming, Managing Director and A&M's Head of European Restructuring, emphasized that the launch responds to evolving market demands. "From our track record in delivering operational change, we know that in the most complex situations, a reputation honed over years can be made or lost in days," Fleming stated, adding that the reputation offering is a natural next step for the firm's value-preservation mission.
Antonio Alvarez III, Managing Director and Head of A&M EMEA, described the move as a strategic investment in the firm's growth. He highlighted that clear communication and transparency are critical components of strategic turnarounds and complex transactions, and signaled that the firm looks to expand this capability further in the future.
