The 2026 Rising Stars of the Profession: Courtney Klein

Courtney Klein has more than 10 years of experience in cybersecurity and privacy assessments, complex investigations and project management. At FTI Consulting, Courtney is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of client engagements, conducting privacy and security operations for organizations, performing privacy and security assessments against best practice frameworks, supporting clients with strategic growth and issue remediation, and coordinating and maintaining relationships with clients. Courtney conducts cybersecurity program assessments to identify company maturity, risks and gaps. She has supported assessments for regulatory agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Courtney is a key cybersecurity partner for private equity and firms in the financial sector globally. She has supported organizations with pre-close cybersecurity due diligence, post-close remediation, carve-out planning and execution, and portfolio company assessments and management. 

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Courtney served as a program manager and advisor to the senior leadership of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Cyber Division. At the FBI, Courtney was responsible for operations, strategic planning and external outreach. This included managing the FBI's presence at conferences, preparing leadership to speak at cyber-related events and for Capitol Hill hearings/briefings, and serving as the point-of-contact for the FBI's messaging on cyber topics and cases.
