Dr. Gordon joins the firm following his tenure as the inaugural Chief Informatics Officer at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). With more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of clinical medicine and enterprise technology, he has advised federal and state policymakers, technology companies, and life sciences leaders on digital health strategy, clinical data infrastructure, and technology-enabled care delivery.

During his time at CMMI, Dr. Gordon also served as a senior advisor to the CMS Administrator for technology and interoperability. In this capacity, he led technology alignment efforts across federal agencies and developed CMMI's enterprise-wide data strategy. His work included overseeing major data aggregation initiatives that expanded data sharing with states and regional partners, as well as architecting policy initiatives for payment reform models.

"Will brings a unique combination of clinical credibility, policy insight and hands-on technology leadership," said Bill Bernstein, Partner and Leader of Manatt Health. "His experience inside CMMI and across the health care ecosystem gives him a deep understanding of how data, technology and regulation intersect in practice, particularly as AI becomes increasingly central to care delivery, operations and oversight."

Prior to his public service, Dr. Gordon spent over a decade at Mass General Brigham in senior leadership roles focused on digital health strategy. During his tenure, he designed virtual chronic disease programs serving more than 15,000 patients and drove commercialization partnerships that secured millions in external funding. He holds an M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College, an M.B.I. from Harvard Medical School, and a B.A. from Cornell University.

The addition of Dr. Gordon is part of a strategic expansion of Manatt's AI and emerging technology bench. He joins a growing roster of professionals that includes AI governance leader Julie Brill, former CDC director Mandy Cohen, and data science director Sam Tyner-Monroe.
