The partnership aims to standardize cyber risk management and improve exam readiness for the majority of the top 100 U.S. banks.
Public accounting and consulting firm Crowe LLP has joined the Cyber Risk Institute (CRI) as a Premium Innovator. The collaboration is designed to expand the firm's ability to help financial institutions transform their management of cyber and technology risks by leveraging the CRI Profile.
As a Premium Innovator, Crowe will integrate a suite of CRI tools—including the Profile, Cloud Profile, and Maturity Model—directly into its client service offerings. Beyond implementation, the firm will also collaborate on the ongoing development of these frameworks and advocate for broader adoption of standardized cyber risk practices across the industry.
The partnership leverages Crowe's significant footprint in the financial sector. The firm currently serves more than 2,900 financial services clients, including over 75% of the top 100 U.S. banks. By applying the CRI framework, Crowe aims to provide these institutions with practical, results-driven implementations that align with evolving global standards.
"Financial institutions are facing increasing pressure from evolving cyber threats, expanding regulatory expectations, and the rapid adoption of cloud and AI technologies," said Matt O'Sha, cyber managing director at Crowe. He noted that by aligning services with the CRI Profile, the firm can help clients simplify compliance and scale their risk management programs to better support innovation.
The CRI Profile acts as a central diagnostic tool, consolidating more than 3,500 state, federal, and international cybersecurity regulatory requirements into a single structured framework. This consolidation allows institutions to reduce duplication, prioritize investments using industry-aligned standards, and strengthen defenses against risks related to third parties and emerging technologies.
Josh Magri, CEO of CRI, emphasized that collaboration across the professional services ecosystem is essential for advancing effective risk management. He noted that Crowe brings valuable expertise that will help institutions strengthen their approach to cybersecurity and technology while supporting the practical adoption of aligned standards.
