Deal combines Liberty's pre-transaction advisory expertise with Resultant's post-close technology implementation capabilities, creating a more comprehensive service offering for private equity clients.

Indianapolis-based data and technology consulting firm Resultant has announced its acquisition of Liberty Advisor Group, a Chicago firm that specializes in M&A advisory for private equity firms and Fortune 500 companies. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move is designed to create a service platform that can guide clients through the entire M&A process, from pre-close due diligence to post-close technology integration. The combination pairs Liberty's strategic advisory on the front end of a transaction with Resultant's technical capabilities in data analytics, AI, and digital transformation for execution after a deal closes.

"The addition deepens our expertise in M&A transaction services and portfolio management, particularly for private equity clients who require trusted advisors throughout the entire investment lifecycle," said Greg Layok, Resultant CEO.

For private equity firms and their portfolio companies, the combined entity will offer services including technology and operational due diligence, execution of 90-day integration plans, and value creation initiatives such as ERP transformation and supply chain optimization.

"Our clients now have access to a significantly broader range of technical capabilities in AI, advanced analytics and digital transformation: the primary levers for modern value creation," said Chad Smith, Liberty's founding partner and CEO.

Founded in 2008, Liberty Advisor Group brings a team of approximately 30 professionals to Resultant. The firm reports it has supported over 300 M&A transactions and delivered more than $1 billion in operating income improvement for its clients.

The acquisition of Liberty marks the fifth for Resultant since 2019, following the purchases of Teknion Data Solutions (2022), Tempus Nova (2021), Advocate Solutions (2020), and Connect Think (2019). This pattern suggests a continued strategy of expanding its market reach and service capabilities through targeted acquisitions.

"As private equity sponsors ourselves, we understand well how the quality of technology and data systems drive value at portfolio companies, especially around M&A integration," said Vitali Bourchtein, a managing director at Investcorp and a Resultant board member. "Liberty is a world-class operator in this domain, and we look forward to bringing this expertise and capabilities to Resultant's clients."
