Demetrios Frangiskatos and Mat DeMong, both longtime firm veterans with experience in digital platform development, will now lead the two core service lines.

BDO USA has named new national managing principals to lead its assurance and tax practices. Demetrios Frangiskatos has taken the role of National Managing Principal of Assurance, effective July 1, 2025, and Mat DeMong has assumed the position of National Managing Principal of Tax, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Frangiskatos, who has been with BDO since 2000, will oversee the strategy and client delivery for the firm's audit, attest, financial accounting advisory and technology risk services. He previously served as the assurance managing partner for the firm's east region and managed the BDOAdvantage team, which is responsible for the firm's digital audit suite.

DeMong began his career at BDO in 2004 as a tax associate and most recently served as the east tax managing principal. His background includes involvement in the adoption of BDO Tax UserVerse, a platform designed for the firm's tax clients. In his new role, he will oversee the firm's tax practice and talent strategy.

The appointments of two principals with backgrounds in developing and implementing digital service platforms suggest a continued focus on technology integration within the firm's core practices.

Frangiskatos is currently a member of the executive team. DeMong is scheduled to join the executive team and report to incoming CEO Matt Becker when Becker assumes the role on July 1, 2026.
