David Weinhoffer, Senior Managing Director, J.S. Held.

Houston-based veteran brings extensive experience in restructuring, fiduciary oversight, and asset management across the energy and maritime sectors.

Consulting firm J.S. Held has appointed David Weinhoffer to its Strategic Advisory team. Based in Houston, Texas, Weinhoffer specializes in turnaround and restructuring for businesses facing significant financial and operational challenges. The move is intended to enhance the firm's support for engagements in the region.

Weinhoffer has a background serving as an advisor and in interim leadership roles, including Chief Restructuring Officer and CEO, for distressed companies. His experience includes managing complex litigation, overseeing multibillion-dollar estates and trusts as a fiduciary, and handling more than $1 billion in domestic and international asset sales, including Section 363 transactions. He has worked on Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.

His sector experience is concentrated in the maritime, energy and heavy industrial industries. Previously, he served as Liquidating Trustee for pharmaceutical estates with over $1.5 billion in claims and was recognized with an American Bankruptcy Institute Asset Sale of the Year award for executing the $650 million sale of a semi-submersible drilling rig.

"Drawing on extensive hands-on experience managing distressed and nonperforming assets across multiple sectors, David brings deep real-world insight and operational expertise to his work," said Michael Jacoby, Strategic Advisory practice lead at J.S. Held.

Stephanie Giammarco, who leads Disputes, Valuations, and Financial Advisory services for the firm, added that Weinhoffer's combined operational knowledge and litigation background is a key asset. "His litigation background guides asset management decisions," she noted.

Commenting on his new role, Weinhoffer stated it provides an "opportunity to collaborate with an exceptional team of more than 80 restructuring, turnaround, and operational performance improvement professionals nationwide, providing solutions to middle-market enterprise clients across 50+ industries."
