The firm is leveraging its internal adoption of the technology to build out new AI-focused client services and training programs, citing rapid uptake among its own employees.
KPMG's U.S. firm has deployed Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise platform across its entire workforce, equipping its audit, tax, and advisory professionals with generative AI tools. According to the company, the rollout saw significant internal adoption, with nearly 90% of employees accessing the tool within the first two weeks of its launch.
Since late September, employees have created nearly 700 no-code AI agents for internal use cases. The firm is now using this internal implementation as a blueprint for new client-facing services, moving from advising on AI to building and deploying it based on its own experience.
"We’re not just offering technology; we’re bringing first-hand experience, tested use cases, and a clear path to value," said Steve Chase, U.S. Vice Chair and Global Head of AI and Digital Innovation at KPMG.
This strategy appears to align with a broader market trend. A recent KPMG survey from the third quarter of 2025 found that the deployment of AI agents among organizations has nearly quadrupled, with 42% now using at least some agents, a sharp increase from 11% just two quarters prior. By implementing the technology internally first, KPMG is positioning itself as an experienced guide for clients navigating this shift.
The firm is productizing its experience into specific service offerings for clients, focusing on repeatable use cases in finance, procurement, and IT infrastructure. These include developing AI agents for financial forecasting and invoice processing, automating sourcing in procurement, and using a proprietary "Intelligent Modernization Toolkit" to accelerate the conversion of legacy IT systems.
To support these new offerings, KPMG has established two client-focused programs in partnership with Google Cloud. The "Agent Hero Program" is a global initiative designed to give clients hands-on experience building and deploying their own AI agents. Additionally, the firm is launching the "Google Cloud Experience Zone" in its Ignition Centers, starting in Chicago this fall, to provide clients with technology demos and workshops.
The firm also highlighted a collaboration with the technology platform Workiva, where it is using Gemini Enterprise to automate project delivery for sustainability reporting implementations.
Internally, KPMG reports that employees are using the platform to improve workflow efficiency for tasks like responding to proposals and generating client-facing materials. Kelle Fontenot, Chief Digital Officer at KPMG, noted that the goal is to free up employee time for more strategic work while using the firm's internal experience to inform client solutions. "We are taking our deep expertise and client zero knowledge straight to our clients and their top challenges,” Fontenot stated.
