Aldis Erglis, Chief AI Officer, Emergn

The technology and transformation consultancy has promoted Aldis Erglis to the newly created role, signaling a deeper integration of artificial intelligence into its operations, products and client services.

Emergn, a consultancy focused on business transformation, has named Aldis Erglis as its first Chief AI Officer (CAIO). In the newly established position, Erglis is tasked with leading the company’s artificial intelligence strategy across its internal operations and accelerating the development of new AI-driven products and services for clients.

The creation of a CAIO role formalizes Emergn’s work in the AI space, which the company states has been ongoing since 2015. The move aligns with a broader trend in the consulting industry, where firms are establishing dedicated leadership to harness AI for both internal efficiency and client-facing solutions.

Erglis is an internal appointee, previously serving as the company’s Vice President of Technology Strategy. In that role, he was responsible for advising clients on digital transformation and AI initiatives. He also led Emergn’s Machine Learning Lab in Latvia, which focuses on experimenting with new technologies.

According to Alex Adamopoulos, Emergn Chairman and CEO, the appointment is intended to position AI as a strategic growth engine for the firm. “A successful AI strategy must connect several components, including an organization’s product operating model, time to value, customer experience, operational efficiency, and the mindset that strongly influences culture,” Adamopoulos said in a statement. He added that Erglis possesses both the technical and business understanding required for the role.

Erglis noted that the goal is to integrate AI with the company's long-standing "Value, Flow, Quality (VFQ)" consulting philosophy. “We’re scaling AI-driven solutions to empower teams and clients to apply VFQ in new ways and reach new levels of excellence,” he stated.

Erglis holds a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Latvia.
