John Knox, Principal, PYA.
PYA has named John Knox as a new Tax Principal. Based in the firm's Charlotte office, Knox brings more than 12 years of experience in tax consulting and compliance to the role.
His background includes strategic tax planning, income tax provision, and audit services for clients in sectors such as investment management, private equity, healthcare, energy, and manufacturing. Knox specializes in federal, multi-state, and international tax compliance, as well as corporate and partnership federal income tax and mergers and acquisitions tax advisory.

Jennifer Blackwood, Managing Principal of Tax, also commented on the appointment. “John has impressive expertise in corporate tax, bringing deep tax advisory and compliance knowledge combined with strategic leadership acumen to serve PYA’s clients,” she stated.
Knox is a certified public accountant and holds both Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting from East Carolina University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
