Former forensic accountant brings over three decades of experience in litigation consulting, regulatory investigations, and dispute resolution to the firm's New York office.
HKA has appointed Paul Farfel as a Partner in its Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages (FACD) practice. Farfel, who will be based in the firm's New York City office, joins HKA after a 38-year career at a Big Four firm.
For the past 15 years, Farfel served as a forensic accountant within the General Counsel’s Office at his previous firm. His experience covers a range of areas including fraud detection, financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and litigation consulting, with a particular focus on serving financial institutions such as commercial and investment banks, asset managers and insurance companies
Throughout his career, Farfel has been involved in a number of significant forensic accounting investigations. These include matters related to the 2008 financial crisis, investigations into Ponzi schemes and regulatory inquiries by the SEC, PCAOB, DOJ and FTC. He has also worked on cases involving potential FCPA violations and assisted financial institutions with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Farfel holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Georgetown University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is Certified in Financial Forensics.
