John Kavanagh, National Security Director, EisnerAmper.

Business advisory firm EisnerAmper has named John Kavanagh its new National Security Director. Kavanagh will join the firm’s Risk & Compliance Services (RCS) practice, focusing on clients navigating U.S. government regulations and security agreements.

In his new role, Kavanagh will be responsible for helping clients develop national security strategies and manage compliance programs related to government mitigation agreements. His team will assess existing security agreements and work to streamline compliance frameworks to reduce costs for clients. He will also cultivate relationships with senior government leaders and external counsel to assist clients during the early stages of negotiating potential government agreements.

Kavanagh has over 35 years of experience in federal law enforcement, national security and public sector consulting. He previously served as a leader of the CFIUS Monitoring Agency for the Department of Defense. A former U.S. Marine Corps officer, Kavanagh also served as an Assistant Director at the FBI, where he led investigations and interagency operations. In the private sector, he held a position at a global consulting firm advising government executives on national security and law enforcement transformation. He currently serves on the faculty at both Georgetown University and George Washington University.

"John's experience in national security, public sector transformation, and academic leadership makes him an extraordinary addition to our existing RCS practice," said Mark Staley, Managing Partner of EisnerAmper's Advisory Services Group. "His insights and leadership will be valuable as we expand our services to meet the evolving needs of clients with interests regulated by the U.S. government."
