Ankura Consulting has established a new Turnaround & Restructuring (T&R) practice in Germany, appointing industry veteran Jens Nawrath to lead the effort as a Senior Managing Director based in Frankfurt.
The launch in Germany represents a continuation of Ankura’s global strategy for its T&R group. The firm previously expanded the practice into Australia in 2019, the UK in 2021, and the Middle East in 2023. According to Simon Michaels, Ankura's Chairman for EMEA and APAC, Germany is a "significant market" for the firm.
Nawrath brings more than 30 years of experience in debt advisory and financial restructuring to his new role. Before joining Ankura, he led the DACH Debt Advisory practice at a global consulting firm, where he advised corporate and private equity clients on debt financing.
The new practice is intended to complement Ankura’s existing services in Germany, which include Data & Technology, Construction Disputes & Advisory, and Risk Advisory. Roy Gallagher, Global Head of Ankura’s Strategic Finance Group, noted that the expansion comes during a "challenging economic and geopolitical climate," where clients require expertise to stabilize operations and improve financial performance.
