Deal adds specialized outsourced accounting capabilities for federal contractors and continues the advisory firm’s expansion in the U.S. northeast.

U.S. advisory firm Cherry Bekaert has acquired the business of Jameson & Company CPAs, a firm specializing in outsourced accounting for small federal government contractors. The move is intended to expand Cherry Bekaert’s Government Contractor Consulting Services practice

Headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts, Jameson & Company brings deep experience in government contracts and grants compliance. This acquisition follows Cherry Bekaert’s purchase of Boston-based firm Katz Nannis + Solomon in December 2024, signaling a continued strategic focus on growing its presence in the northeastern United States. The integration aims to combine Jameson's niche expertise with Cherry Bekaert's broader platform, enhancing the firm's outsourced accounting solutions for government contractors and grantees of all sizes.

The combined practice now includes a team with experience as former contractor chief financial officers, controllers, and auditors from the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). The firm provides guidance on regulatory frameworks including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG). Allan D. Koltin, CEO of Koltin Consulting Group, who advised on the transaction, noted that the acquisition aligns two firms with a shared focus on client service in the government contracting and grants management sectors.
