Robert Olsen is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura, based in Washington, D.C., where he leads as the Global Head of Cybersecurity and Privacy. With over 25 years of experience, he specializes in developing, implementing, and managing complex cybersecurity and IT enterprise risk management programs. Robert has served as a chief information officer (CIO) and chief information security officer (CISO) across a variety of industries and organizational sizes. He provides reactive, data analytics, and proactive cybersecurity services to government, private industry and not-for-profit clients. Additionally, Robert is a serial entrepreneur and an adjunct professor of cybersecurity at Johns Hopkins University. His experience spans enterprise risk management and technical cybersecurity services for commercial, government and not-for-profit clients. He has also provided systems engineering and technical program management services to federal agencies, led the operations team for a 2,500=person international organization, and managed a program management organization overseeing IT, acquisition integration, field operations and product development. Recently recognized among The Consulting Report’s Top 25 Cybersecurity Consultants and Leaders of 2024, he holds certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, and HCISPP. Robert also served in the U.S. Army as a squad leader for the 3rd Battalion 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.
