Kristin Dunne is an innovative strategist and recognized leader in destination stewardship, currently serving as Director of Destination Wayfinder and Destination Stewardship Strategy Lead at Miles Partnership. With an extensive career dedicated to reshaping how destinations approach tourism, Kristin joined Miles Partnership in 2021 after leading a regional destination management organization in New Zealand. In her transformative five-year tenure as Chief Executive, she developed and implemented ‘Te Ha Tapoi | The Love of Tourism,’ one of the world’s pioneering destination stewardship strategies. This globally acclaimed pre-pandemic initiative elevated indigenous knowledge into mainstream tourism frameworks, integrated regenerative principles and fostered authentic community participation. Kristin’s expertise is sought after by DMOs, government bodies, and industry organizations globally. She is the deputy co-chair of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and a certified professional director. Kristin also serves as a director for Destination Southern Lakes and is a trustee of the Tourism Industry New Zealand Trust.
