Ben Solomon, Principal, Cornerstone Research

Cornerstone Research, a provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has announced that Ben Solomon has joined the firm as a principal, based in the Chicago office.

Solomon is a forensic accountant and certified public accountant (CPA) who specializes in economic damages analysis. He has over 15 years of experience consulting on complex business insurance claims, merger and acquisition (M&A) disputes, and technical accounting issues involving the application of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

In his consulting work, Solomon quantifies and analyzes economic damages and business interruption claims in various contexts, including natural and man-made disasters, product liability matters, data and cyber breaches, breach of contract claims, and alleged intellectual property infringement.

Solomon’s extensive experience with high-stakes M&A disputes includes a variety of matters involving GAAP principles and internal controls. In addition, he has consulted on corporate compliance matters, as well as numerous investigations alleging fraud, bribery and corruption.

As an expert witness, Solomon has submitted expert reports, testified in deposition, and provided testimony as part of arbitration panels. He has also been retained as an independent appraiser in a dispute related to business interruption.
