In her new role, Burgess will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s board and providing strategic guidance as RSM looks to further its growth and success. She was selected for the position through a vote by the board’s members. Burgess has been a member of the RSM US Board of Directors since December 2022.
“I am deeply honored to be selected as the chair of the RSM US LLP Board of Directors,” said Burgess. “It is a privilege to serve in this role—especially at such a critical point in our firm’s evolution as we advance our global strategy, embrace our digital future, and navigate changing times. All while continuing to deliver on our commitment to excellence in serving our clients and our people.”
Burgess’s appointment as board chair is part of a broader succession plan for RSM. The firm is also adding six new members to its executive leadership team. These changes are aimed at bringing new perspectives to the firm as it looks to strengthen its position in the middle market and drive its digital and global future.
“These leadership appointments position us to drive even greater impact for our clients, colleagues and firm,” said Brian Becker, managing partner & CEO for RSM US LLP. “Each leader brings a unique perspective and deep understanding of our business, culture and the marketplace that reflects our longstanding commitment to the middle market as we continue to evolve to meet changing client needs and embrace our digitally connected future.”
The new executive team members include Sam Mascareno, who will take on the role of chief operating officer. Mascareno will be succeeding Bill Gorman in this position. The firm is also promoting Stuart Taub to the newly created role of enterprise markets and industry leader.
In addition, RSM is adding Ericka Foster, Rod Reimann, and Maria Severino to its executive leadership team. Foster will be serving as the firm’s first deputy general counsel, while Reimann will take on the role of enterprise sales leader. Severino, who currently serves as RSM’s enterprise tax growth and industry leader, will also be joining the team.
Rucker, who is set to succeed Joel Shamon as the firm’s enterprise assurance leader, will also be joining the executive leadership team. In his new role, Rucker will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s assurance line of business.
