CMAG: What characteristics and elements would you attribute to your firm's inclusion as a Best Firm to Work For?

Cognizant Consulting places immense focus on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every employee can thrive. We believe that investing in our people is the key to our continued growth and success. We offer countless opportunities for employees to enrich their professional and personal lives through education, volunteering, and engagement.

The Consulting Division is unique in that we operate globally in a wide array of industries, providing ample opportunities for employees to broaden their expertise and experience. Our global presence means that our team can collaborate with colleagues and clients from around the world, gaining valuable insights and perspectives.

We offer our employees the possibility to work with companies that are creating positive impact in the world. We partner with organizations that are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on society. Our focus on positive change for our clients motivates our employees to reach their fullest potential.

CMAG: Are there any specific programs or initiatives that contributed to you being included as a Best Firm?

Cognizant Consulting has several people-centric initiatives that motivate, support, and engage our employees. Our Cognizant for Good program focuses on employee engagement and giving back to the community. It encourages employees to participate in various community service projects and volunteer opportunities, fostering a culture of social responsibility and making a positive impact on society.

Our Trailblazer Sponsor program is designed to fast-track consultants by providing them with leader sponsorship and support to enhance their career growth. We also have our C-Pal and MBA Buddy Programs that pair new hires with experienced employees to guide them through their first few months and beyond.

To motivate and recognize outstanding performance, Cognizant Consulting has established quarterly awards such as Consultant of the Quarter and Project of the Quarter. These awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of employees, highlighting their dedication and excellence in their respective roles.

CMAG: In describing your firm, what would you say sets it apart from other consulting firms?

Cognizant Consulting is distinguished by our exceptional team. We are intentional about our hiring and welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, creating a wealth of perspectives and experiences. Our commitment to inclusivity means we don't just hire traditional consultants.

We bring in talent from various sectors, including industry, government, education, media celebrities, arts backgrounds, and more. We are also focused on supporting our Veteran community. This diversity allows us to approach clients' problems from multiple angles and develop innovative solutions. By having a team with such varied backgrounds, we can better understand our clients' perspectives and leverage our diverse expertise to solve their problems effectively. Our unique mix of traditional consultants and professionals from other fields equips us with the tools to address complex issues comprehensively. This holistic approach ensures that we can deliver tailored solutions that meet our clients' specific needs. We also focus heavily on raising our consultants up by offering a plethora of training options to enhance and in some cases, reskill their capabilities.

CMAG: Where your workforce is concerned, what would you say your priorities look like for the upcoming year and beyond?

Continued investment in our people and practices are our biggest priorities. We have been reimagining our career architecture to better align with the industry. For entry level consultants, we have been building our COIN program (Consultant Incubator), which is a rotational program where consultants can experience projects in different industries before choosing a specialty.

Additionally, we are focused on enabling our employees to have a voice in thought leadership. We encourage our employees to participate in research, attend conferences, and publish their ideas and artifacts within Cognizant's KnowHub, which is our internal intellectual property platform.

Cognizant Consulting has defined our Strategic Growth Initiatives (SGIs) that are directed toward keeping our associates engaged with the consulting organization from a career growth, learning and development, and collaboration perspective. The four pillars are Accelerated Sales Penetration, Collaborative Culture, World Class Career Excellence, and Dynamic Knowledge. We have a team dedicated to promoting and enhancing these goals.

CMAG: What opportunities do you see as the most promising?

Cognizant Consulting aims to help enable our clients to execute their Generative AI goals and visions. We have established a Gen AI practice within Consulting with the goal of encouraging and educating our consultants to provide AI solutions to clients. The world is catching on to the value Generative AI can bring, and we aim to be leaders in the industry. Our goal is to help clients realign their priorities to leverage AI and innovate to meet their business needs.

We are also executing GenAI internally and encouraging employees to leverage key AI tools to drive their own productivity and learning. In addition, we are aligning our strengths with the Cognizant Moment team, and other services lines to align around integrated solutions to enable our clients' future in the new AI world.

CMAG: What market forces do you see as the most challenging?

With this being an election year in the US, market uncertainty is high. We want to encourage our clients to be conservative in their purchases of special services that could be affected by a changing market landscape. We strive to be the partner of choice for all our clients, and part of that is setting up our clients for success in a volatile environment.

CMAG: What impact do you think Best Firm to Work For honors will have on your employees? The firm overall? Clients?

Receiving the Best Firm to Work For Award will solidify our reputation as a professional advisory firm that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of our employees. This recognition will further highlight our commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment, making us an employer of choice in the industry. We hope this award will instill a sense of pride in our employees, which will translate to increased motivation and productivity. For our clients, this honor serves as a testament to Cognizant's values and culture. It will reassure them that they are partnering with a company that not only delivers exceptional results, but also cares deeply about its people. We also hope that this recognition will also attract new clients who are looking for an authentic and trusted partner.
