External affairs veteran to guide public policy for clients at the state and national levels.
WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services consultancy, has hired Donna Estacio as senior vice president of state and local government affairs for the firm's West region.
Estacio will direct state and local government relations in a 29-state region, including political and civic engagement activities and corporate strategy for public policy issues. She is based in Los Angeles.
"Donna is a leader with phenomenal experience in both private industry and government, having worked at asset management companies and in transportation, state and local government," said Stuart Sunshine, WSP senior vice president and national director of government affairs. "This gives her a unique perspective on our expanded market opportunities in the environment, energy and transportation space, and it's this perspective that she's going to bring to our firm's collaborations with our clients at the state and local levels as they deliver projects and programs for their constituents."
Estacio has more than 15 years of experience in external affairs leadership. Her most recent role was senior vice president of external affairs for a global asset management company where she established its U.S. public affairs team.
Estacio previously served as a regional director of state and local government affairs for a U.S.-based airline, where she was responsible for developing and executing legislative, political and community strategies for the airline's western region. She was the former director of state relations for the office of the mayor in Los Angeles.
Estacio is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in sociology with college honors, and Princeton University with a master's degree in public policy. She also earned an urban policy certificate at Princeton University.
