Yaghobi will focus on enhancing and reinforcing elevator and escalator design services on transportation and building projects.
Sean Yaghobi has joined WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services consultancy, as senior vice president and vertical transportation department manager.
Based in WSP's New York office, Yaghobi is responsible for delivering design, construction and testing commissioning services for elevator and escalator design on WSP projects, such as airport terminals, transit facilities, government buildings and more.
In addition to supporting the full project lifecycle, he drives strategic growth of WSP's vertical transportation business serves on the firm's Northeast Transportation and Infrastructure business management team.

"His extensive work on many high-profile projects nationally and internationally gives him a deep understanding of what clients need and expect on their projects."
With more than 20 years of vertical transportation experience in manufacturing, construction and engineering services, Yaghobi held numerous senior leadership positions, delivering for New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building in Washington, D.C. and contract leadership for the United States Postal Service for more than 50 mail facilities across the country.
Additionally, he worked on transit and rail, aviation, government and building projects in Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, Toronto, London, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
Yaghobi earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering and is a licensed elevator/escalator inspector from National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities.
