Alliance to bolster proactive mitigation of cyber risk and improve security resilience.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has announced a strategic partnership with Mandiant (part of Google Cloud)—a recognized leader in dynamic cyber defense, threat intelligence and incident response services—to help organizations improve cybersecurity resilience against the ever-evolving threat landscape.

With both threats and regulatory expectations rising, BCG will team with Mandiant to help organizations determine which risks matter most, and identify the best way to mitigate and withstand attacks in even the most challenging circumstances. The partnership brings together incident response and frontline threat intelligence capabilities and deep expertise in working with the boards and C-suites of organizations, enabling clients to address fundamental strategic challenges–including cybersecurity and digital risk–to better prepare for and respond to threats.

The partnership will focus on working with organizations in three dimensions:

  • Pre-Incident: Most organizations need to be better prepared to handle a cyber incident and strengthen their defenses. BCG and Mandiant will assist organizations in preparing for an incident through immersive cyber simulations, crisis preparedness, and secure design and digital risk exposure.
  • During Incident: This is often the most challenging time for organizations, and why this partnership brings so much value. Organizations need expert advice that connects the technical to the strategic. BCG and Mandiant can rapidly work across organizational silos to minimize the impact of an incident and provide clear coordination among all stakeholders.
  • Post-Incident: After an organization has gone through a challenging event, there is a significant amount of work that needs to be done to strengthen cyber capabilities through a structured post-mortem and subsequent remediation and/or transformation program.
