West Monroe

Retaining Female Talent

Program Title: West Monroe's Women in Mergers & Acquisitions (WIMA) Group

Program Overview: West Monroe has built a distinctive market reputation for M&A services ranging from diligence to complex carveout transactions—making us a trusted partner to large private equity investors. In 2020, three West Monroe women found themselves among only a few women in the M&A practice. It's why they founded our internal Women in Mergers & Acquisitions (WIMA) group. WIMA is focused on growing, connecting, and building the community of women in M&A at West Monroe with the goal of increasing female representation of women in the M&A practice. Members at all levels ranging from entry-level consultants to partners and participate in delivering WIMA's agenda by working in teams to address three pillars: 1) recruiting, 2) leadership and internal relationship building, and 3) networking in the M&A community. In just three years, WIMA has already accomplished its goal by growing 5X, and ultimately, becoming an incredibly well-respected firm initiative.

About West Monroe: West Monroe is a digital services firm that was born in technology but built for business—partnering with companies in transformative industries to deliver quantifiable financial value. We believe that digital is a mindset—not a project, a team, or a destination—and it's something companies become, not something they do. That's why we work in diverse, multidisciplinary teams that blend management consulting, digital design, and product engineering to move companies from traditional ways of working to digital operating models—and create experiences that transcend the digital and physical worlds. Connected by the 13 founding values that drive our culture, our 2,000 employees work collaboratively across the firm with the belief that our clients' success is our success.
