2023 Women Leaders in Technology: Toni Lastella

Toni Lastella is a managing director and leader of Protiviti's Business Applications Solutions practice in the U.S. She has more than 18 years of experience in leading ERP transformation and project risk management initiatives, including ERP selection and strategy, internal control advisory, implementation readiness assessments, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and roadmap planning and deployment of GRC access management solutions. Lastella also leads Protiviti's partner alliances in the U.S. Northeast region, working with key organizations to build out innovation capabilities, process mining and cloud ERP end-to-end solution design and implementations.

Lastella has been a member of Protiviti's Executive Team Advisory Council for the last two years. She is a longtime member of ISACA and holds CISA and CRISC certifications.

Lastella holds a master's degree in accounting information systems from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University."

What has been the biggest factor in your success so far?

Having both female and male mentors that have supported me to push past my comfort zone, develop confidence, and build my own leadership style. What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry? The opportunity to meet, learn from, and support incredible people in the firm and at my clients. Taking on new challenges and finding innovative solutions, especially since technology is always changing and enhancing.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

Supporting and sponsoring two members of my team to reach the significant milestone of becoming a Protiviti managing director.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

"Always be able to look yourself in the mirror." I feel this is critical to develop trust and integrity in your relationships and make good decisions.
