2023 Women Leaders in Technology: Ellen Jones Polhamus

Ellen Jones Polhamus, with 30 years of senior client services leadership experience and accomplishments within legal technology and litigation services, serves as Epiq's senior vice president of eDiscovery client services. Polhamus leads Epiq's global eDiscovery client services team, consisting of approximately 80 project managers and directors. She directs day-to-day operations and ensures the client experience is consistently exceptional across the globe.

What has been the biggest factor in your success so far?

I have leaned on a few key principles that have stood the test of time: 1. A strong work ethic and dedication to your professional responsibilities will never fail you; 2. As a leader, everyone is watching – Be a Role Model; 3. Connect with the "service" part of your job and everything else will come naturally; and 4. The people that surround you are in fact, your greatest asset.

What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry?

I enjoy "consulting" with the service team that I oversee. I have found that career guidance, advice, and counsel that lifts people up is a key component to how well they service clients. Consulting is giving back to others, all the experience and expertise one has collected over the years. I am so fortunate to have had an amazing career with leaders who invested in me.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

A team of leaders within Client Services that will carry on a legacy of strength, positive intent, and the highest quality of delivery to clients.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

Never forget where you came from.

What does this recognition mean to you?

This award reminds me that I have landed on the right priorities as a leader, and that empowering others to do their best is the greatest path to success and fulfillment.
