Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?

Ray: Our growth is a function of our exceptional team. We have been successful in driving penetration within current service lines and expanding into new service line adjacencies because our team is extraordinarily talented and laser focused on client satisfaction.

Consulting: How would you say you've managed to maintain growth during the unprecedented past three years?

Ray: Our continued growth is a result of our relentless focus on attracting and retaining premier talent. Our strategy of bringing blue chip talent to the middle market clients as well as continuing to expand service lines has facilitated market share capture. Finally, our best-in-class client delivery and growing reputation has further propagated additional growth.

Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?

Ray: While restructuring has been slow in the first half of the year due to unprecedented market liquidity levels and low interest rates, Portage Point has responded by growing our interim management, performance improvement and business transformation service lines. More recently, challenging growth dynamics, enduring inflation, supply chain challenges and increasing interest rates have driven increased demand in our turnaround and restructuring practice.

Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2023? Where do you see the most opportunities?

Ray: Our strategic plan includes expanding service lines, growing delivery and enablement teams and pursuing aggressive geographic expansion. 2023 will be a transformational year as we execute on our Portage Point 3.0 vision.

Consulting: What would you say are the firm's biggest challenges in 2023?

Ray: Portage Point will face two primary challenges in 2023. The first will be continuing to cultivate our exceptional culture built over the past six years while adding so many new team members. The second will be maturing our marketing competency to ensure that our clients (and the market overall) appreciate our full suite of services and expanding value proposition.
