What do you enjoy most about your career in the consulting industry?

Helping people. This may sound strange coming from a consultant, but my job day in and day out is finding ways to make things better for people and to help them grow. Within Spaulding Ridge, I can mentor and grow a team and help them grow in their career paths whether foundational, mentoring or supporting. With my clients, our ability to make their lives better through solving complex business challenges so that at the end of the day, they can go home to their families and friends versus being stuck at their desk.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?

Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. The first time I heard this advice I was immediately drawn to it and now I hear it repeatedly from many (successful) people. If I am comfortable with where I am or what I am doing, many times that means I am not learning or growing. Getting outside my comfort zone continues to open doors that allow me to grow and ultimately my team as well.

What does being honored as a Women Leader in Technology mean to you?

This award recognizes all the great people that have come through my life – my parents and family, friends, colleagues, clients. All of them have contributed small parts of themselves to help me grow and this reflects them. I want to be known as someone individuals want to work for or with – respected, supportive, knowledgeable, and overall someone that will be a great leader and support her team through it all.
