CMAG:  How would you say you've managed to stay among the industry's Best Firms to Work For amid these unprecedented times?

During this most challenging of business environments, our flexible work structure and team dynamics allowed us to rapidly pivot to a fully remote work environment while maintaining the high quality of delivery our clients expect from us. Since our teams had already been delivering solutions for clients around the US and around the globe, we already had the technology and processes in place for remote delivery. We moved quickly to get assist our team in getting home office configurations set up such as large monitors, upgraded communications devices, etc. Throughout the year, we have maintained the flexibility to allow each employee to decide on their scheduled work location.

CMAG: Were there any specific programs or initiatives (internal or external) that contributed to you being a Best Firm to Work For?

Internally – We strive to support a culture of continuous learning for both our clients and employees. We encourage the type of entrepreneurial and problem-solving culture that provides significant opportunities for personal and professional growth for both our clients and employees. Eigen X has developed an internal program of training/coaching to keep our team current on technology trends in their focus area. We also encourage cross-training in other technologies to provide broader opportunities to each employee. This program not only builds skills but increases team cohesion and mentoring for the entire organization.

Externally – Eigen X has committed to the Pledge 1% Challenge to encourage the entire organization to support social causes they care about. In addition to donations to supported causes by the organization, each employee is given 1% of their time to use for causes they care about. This time is fully paid and counts positively toward our bonus program. Eigen X also contributes 1% of all firm hours as Pro Bono work for charitable organizations that need technology support.

CMAG: What's unique about your firm? What sets it apart?

Eigen X was founded on a simple principle of wanting to create a business in which our owners and employees would be happy and proud to work. One with a strong culture and a commitment to serving clients and creating opportunities for our employees. Our philosophy and approach are influenced by the collective beliefs on which we have built the organization.

Our Beliefs

  • Commitment – To our employees, clients, partners and community
  • Culture – Cultivating a sense of community and providing opportunities for empowerment and growth
  • Partnership – Building and maintaining relationships with clients, employees and partners to promote beneficial outcomes
  • Execution – Earning the trust of our clients by getting things done and achieving positive results
  • Quality – Ensuring excellence in everything we do

CMAG: What's the top priority over the next 6 to 12 months?

We are seeing an increase in new projects starting as well as growth in the sales pipeline. We also opened an office in DC to serve Federal and Commercial clients in that marketplace. All of this growth is driving demand for additional technical talent on our team. We expect to grow substantially over the next 6 to 12 months with recruiting being the top priority.

CMAG: When you look at the remainder of this year and 2022, what excites you? What opportunities do you see in your markets?

Nearly all of our existing clients are expanding their work with us and many "on hold" projects from earlier in the year are now moving forward. The opportunities within Analytics and data integration with products like Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI and others are increasing rapidly. Digital Marketing and CRM combined with advanced analytics are giving clients more focused and detailed information on customer needs.

CMAG: What impact do you think being a Best Firm to Work For has on the firm? Employees? Clients?

This recognition is very helpful in recruiting new employees because it helps validate our commitment to being a people-focused organization. Employees appreciate this recognition but also value the process as we solicit input on how we can continuously improve our work culture and employee benefits. By being a Best Place to Work, our turnover is very low which clients value greatly as we provide consistent teams for delivering their projects.
