Anne Hoecker

Bain & Company

Excellence in Leadership Looking back on her career, Anne Hoecker notes there have been many cases and client results that are clear highlights. "But when I think about my greatest overall achievement, what rises to the top has been creating a mostly successful balance of many different goals and priorities across family, career, and friends."

"It is an incredible honor to receive this recognition as part of a group of amazing women.  I am so excited to see the growing ranks of women at Bain & Company and beyond focused on the technology industry."

There have been challenges for her as well. "From my college days in engineering, I learned early on to be comfortable being one of few women in a room – be it a classroom or conference room. I had to push myself to speak up more often, as my natural tendency was to be quiet. I found that deep interest and passion for a given topic such as semiconductors helped me change my approach to driving discussions in large group settings."

Q&A: What would you say is the best advice (consulting or otherwise) you've ever received?

Hoecker points out she received lots of advice along the way, "The best advice I received early on in my career was to "find your team".  These are both key mentors and sponsors with whom you like to work and who will help you grow in your career, as well as individuals who you help guide in growing and developing their careers."
