The 2021 Global Leaders in Consulting: Sophie Ross

Ross has worked with leaders across FTI Technology's offices in more than a dozen countries, including Australia, China, Dubai, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, and the U.S. and UK to ensure their expertise solutions align with the issues that matter most to clients. During the pandemic, the segment quickly pivoted to enable continuity for clients via the addition of new experts, enhanced remote collections, virtual managed review and more.

Asked about her greatest professional achievements in her career, and Ross notes how given the events of the last year, her answer is much different today than it would have been a year ago.

"Responding to a prolonged global crisis, which had greater implications than anyone would have predicted, in an environment where everyone was experiencing high anxiety, is an accomplishment in itself. I'm so proud to be present now in 2021 and to reflect upon how FTI Consulting pulled together to manage our people and our business through the last year, while supporting clients through a fast-changing and uncertain climate. I admire our team's ability to not only weather the storm, but to innovate and continue to grow throughout it," she says.

As for the biggest keys to her success, Ross points to three elements: Rolling out a set of initiatives, empowering the firm's teams to innovate and implement, and a willingness to adapt along the way.

"These three elements ensure that we are strategically positioned as a firm, are able to offer our clients the best quality of services and provide our people an exciting career ahead. Success doesn't happen on your own, it comes from years of working with and learning from others, and taking a team approach to solving problems."
