Softjourn
Excellence in Innovation
Emmy Gengler has more than 30 years of IT solution development experience, and is deeply passionate about what software and technology can do. She started Softjourn in 2001 and currently serves as its President and CEO.
Under her leadership, Softjourn has grown into an international technology services provider, focused on working in the cards & payments and media & entertainment industries. Gengler has published papers and articles on blockchain and its use cases, technology in the ticketing industry, virtual development teams and their management, and on the development of Ukraine's software exports market.
Ask her what the biggest keys to her success has been so far, and she cites persistence and perspective as chief among them.
"Offering a clear perspective, whether with clients or within Softjourn, is critical to the success of any project. It also provides clarity on which solution and technology solve a problem. When to lean more towards technology for that added value it will provide to a client or when it doesn't pay, i.e. it won't help them achieve their goals and win in the market," she says.
As for what being named a Global Leader in Consulting means for her and her firm, Gengler said it means the work they're doing for clients is making a difference.
"This award is the result of all Softjourn employees' efforts to help our clients achieve their goals. It shows that we're well-respected in our domains and it recognizes the effort that we put in to continuing to develop our expertise. For our clients, it's further proof that they came to the right people to meet their needs."
Q&A: What would you say are your greatest professional achievements thus far in your career?
"I've been lucky to have worked with great colleagues and clients all over the world in both enterprises and start-ups. The opportunity to join forces with talent in different locations prepared me to create a company that collaborates with some exciting organizations both large and small. I've been fortunate to find answers to complex and ambiguous issues with the help of some exceptionally brilliant people!"
