Cincinnati-based manufacturing consultancy Altix Consulting has acquired Dublin, Ireland-based LCL Consult to beef up its lean manufacturing offering.

Altix specializes in global supply chain management and advanced manufacturing, advising clients on a range of strategy, operations, and technology needs, including factory automation. The boutique firm was co-founded by a pair of expats from France, Yannick Schilly and Anne Cappel. Schilly spent 25 years at German industrial control and automation company Festo.

The acquisition will gives Altix a foothold in Ireland, allowing it to provide its lean implementation services to clients globally.

"LCL is the global leader in transforming traditional factories into Lean benchmark sites," says Yannick Schilly, president of Altix. "With implementations across the automotive, aerospace, technology, and consumer packaged goods industries, LCL's specialized expertise will allow us to further evolve as we look to the future. They have an impressive track record, and we are excited to welcome them to the Altix team."

The two firms had a previous affiliation agreement spanning a number of years. The acquisition will see Altix's team increase in size by nearly 50 percent as 10 professionals from LCL join.

"We have worked with Altix for years as a valued Lean transformation partner and have a long-standing history of successful collaboration with their team," said Cassidy. "This move is a natural fit for both of our organizations, and we look forward to expanding our work together."
