Women leaders in technology fields are often overlooked, but particularly in the consulting profession—where three-quarters of the industry is male, especially in the upper ranks. And that number is even greater in technology circles. We recognize the impact you are making every single day.

That's why we're launching a brand-new award and recognition event—Consulting's Women Leaders in Technology. We highlight our inaugural class in this issue beginning on Page 8. And what a group of distinguished winners it is! As with all of our recognition awards, we'll be gathering (fingers crossed) later in the year to recognize these 30 women leaders in technology for the excellence they've shown. Originally scheduled for May, we've postponed the event to late August in hopes that by then we'll all be able to gather in a ballroom and celebrate. That, of course, still remains to be seen.

A Word on Covid-19

The Women Leaders in Technology event was not the only one that needed to be rescheduled. Covid-19 has forced us to move The Rising Stars of the Profession dinner to August. And we are currently looking to move June's Top 25 Consultants dinner—our largest of the year—to the fall, as well. Obviously, the safety of our attendees is paramount in every decision we make. The Covid-19 disruption is like none we've ever seen. It makes life very difficult for all of us professionally, but particularly consulting, which relies on travel, face-to-face-meetings and handshakes perhaps more than any other industry. I've spoken to a lot of consultants these last few weeks. You are, of course, serving clients as best you can from home. I'd expect nothing less. Your real value, however, is yet to come. Once we turn the corner, clients will need you more than ever to put all the pieces back together. I've covered this profession for some 13 years. There is no doubt you'll be up for the challenge.
