Anthony J. Ferrante

FTI Consulting

Excellence in Execution

Cybersecurity is Anthony J. Ferrante's passion, and teaching others about cybersecurity has been one of the most fulfilling endeavors of his entire career, he says. "I was fortunate to be able to serve as the co-founder of the Master's in Cybersecurity Program at Fordham University. We've seen countless students graduate from the program and start successful careers in cybersecurity, helping both to reduce the growing cybersecurity skills gap and better protect organizations from the endless barrage of cyber threats," he says.

Over the course of last year, FTI Consulting has grown the Cybersecurity team from one senior leader—Ferrante—to five. Two of those senior leaders are international, based in London and Seoul, respectively. "I'm really proud that we've had successes that require such rapid growth, and I look forward to developing our reputation globally in the next twelve months."

Ferrante is a Senior Managing Director and the Global Leader of Cybersecurity practice at FTI Consulting. Ferrante is an expert in data privacy and cybersecurity resilience, prevention, response, remediation, and recovery services. Ferrante has more than 20 years of top-level cybersecurity experience, providing incident response and preparedness planning to more than 1,000 private sector and government organizations, including more than 175 Fortune 500 companies and 70 Fortune 100 companies.

"Cyber risks affect us all, and cybersecurity means something different to each organization. Because of that, I get to interact with companies in all industries and work on solving a variety of problems that carry potentially disastrous outcomes if ignored," he says.

Ferrante maintains first-hand operational knowledge of more than 60 criminal and national security cyber threat sets, and extensive practical expertise researching, designing, developing and hacking complex technical applications and hardware systems. He advises clients on data privacy compliance and risk management, specifically addressing issues related to data transfer, employee access, vendor management, marketing, and cloud computing.

Prior to joining FTI, Ferrante served as Director for Cyber Incident Response at the U.S. National Security Council at the White House where he coordinated U.S. response to unfolding domestic and international cybersecurity crises and issues.

"Setting high standards for myself and others has driven results that make me proud. I expect the best from myself, and I surround myself with capable individuals," Ferrante says. "Thus, we operate in an environment in which our clients consistently receive high quality work. Success is a team sport."

Q&A:  What does being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting mean to you? Your firm? Your clients?

"It means that the work we're doing is making a difference.  From the firm's perspective, it means that my team and I are really helping clients and that I'm part of a well-respected group at FTI that is only getting better. For my clients, it's further confirmation that they turned to the right people to help with their needs."
