REVENUE GROWTH: 167%
HQ: Chicago, Ill.
Prime TSR is a boutique technology consultancy specializing in digital transformation solutions that work with legacy IT environments. Consulting caught up with Eugene Khazin and Josh Davidson, both Principals with the firm, to discuss its performance and outlook.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Khazin: Backed by a team of pedigreed engineers, our nimble approach and boutique delivery experience are the primary factors driving our steady growth. In recent years, we have stayed ahead of the technology curve by expanding our software partnerships with Microsoft, Amazon, and others. At the same time, our bench of senior engineers has continually added certifications and skillsets in new platforms including Azure and Google Cloud. Our strategic growth has also included broadening our expertise within insurance and healthcare since working with returning clients in those industries.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Davidson: Following a strong year in 2018, we have maintained our growth trajectory in 2019, as we've nearly doubled in size and established a presence on the East Coast. We have exciting initiatives around refreshing our brand to reflect our position in the market and broadening our services around the industries where we help clients stay competitive against digital disruption, such as insurance and healthcare.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2019?
Khazin: In each of the core industries we serve, we are seeing significant opportunities to serve as a catalyst for digital transformation. In the insurance industry, transforming the customer experience is a do or die situation. We are helping our insurance clients to navigate their customer experience challenges in areas such as claims process automation by modernizing legacy systems and building solutions around data analytics, telematics, and other technology. In healthcare, we are focusing on opportunities to build platforms to improve patient engagement and create healthier communities through shared analytics for better decision making by healthcare providers.
Consulting: What are your firm's biggest challenges in 2019?
Davidson: We've been fortunate to have our reputation speak for itself, where a lot of our new work has come to us via word-of-mouth referral by a current or past client. As we scale, we look to be more proactive in outwardly sharing our expertise and being more engaged with our local tech community. Once we start a project, the challenge is talking the client out of overhauling their entire IT, which is where 85 percent of transformation projects fail. Our goal is to build trust by educating executives about the value of incremental bridging of IT systems and by being the conduit between business and IT functions to make sure everyone is aligned on their technology needs.
Consulting: What does being named a Fastest Growing Firm mean to your firm, employees and clients?
Khazin: Being named one of the Fastest Growing Firms for the second consecutive year is a testament to the aptitude of our team, the creativity for solving complex technical issues, and the consistency in the results we deliver. As a boutique agency, it's also a recognition that strength does not always come in numbers. We take pride in the enterprise heritage of our senior consultants while being agile in our delivery and consistent in our standards for quality.
