REVENUE GROWTH: 151%
HQ: Houston, Texas
Myrtle Consulting Group drives operational transformation, operations excellence, and continuous improvement for global manufacturing, processing, and distribution organizations. Consulting caught up with Edwin Bosso, Founder and CEO of the firm.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Bosso: Three pillars drive exceptional growth at Myrtle: First, our focus is on the customer first. All our projects are custom-designed around client-specific challenges and our success is tied directly to the client success. Our ultimate aim is to generate a true transformation project that sets a new baseline, allowing the client to own the solution and begin to work towards continuous improvement before we even leave the site. Secondly, Myrtle has a very diverse team, and we continue growing toward that end. We believe that different cultural backgrounds, educations, experiences, expertise, genders, ages, and other elements that make each of us unique also provides a unique insight into many of the challenges faced by our clients and the solutions and how they are implemented. Finally, although Myrtle is comprised of a very diverse team, we are centered around a common set of values that govern how we work and live.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Bosso: 2019 and 2020 are set up to be significant growth years for us; our pipeline is strong. Our global reach is bearing fruit, and we continue to expand our industry clientele. As we grow, we continue to bring great talent on board and develop our existing people. We launched our "Myrtle Millennial" college recruiting program to bring young talent into the field and further develop them. We are conducting an initiative to encourage women to enter the operational consulting field and advance the careers of those that are already with us. I am also finishing a book project and expect publication in the first quarter of next year. There is quite a lot to be excited about!
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2020?
Bosso: We continue the execution of our growth and geographical expansion strategy. This strategy will continue to be our focus over the next 12 months. Our geographic and industry sector diversification is central to that focus. Our client-first focus remains paramount, as is our delivery of great transformation programs for them.
Consulting: What are your firm's biggest challenges in 2020?
Bosso: It is a world of fast-moving change, but many things stay constant. I have been in this business for a long time, and one of the things that is constant is that clients will always have challenges, although the nature of their challenges may change.
Consulting: What does being named a Fastest Growing Firm mean to your firm, employees and clients?
Bosso: Our commitment to client-first is deliberate, intentional, and visible. Our attention to client-specific challenges, engagement at all levels of their organizations, and generating measurable results ensure a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship with our clients. Additionally, our commitment to attract, develop, and retain top talent in line with our corporate values is real and tangible, proven by our several best workplaces awards received in the past few years.
