REVENUE GROWTH: 57%
HQ: Houston, Texas
Established in 2003, Longnecker & Associates is a nationally recognized compensation and corporate governance consulting firm based in Houston, Texas. As a leader in compensation advisory, planning, and design, the firm specializes in executive compensation and incentive plan design, governance advisory, litigation support and restructuring services for public, private and non-profit companies. Daniel Wilson, Manager with Longnecker & Associates sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm's financial performance, overall outlook and its position as one of the Fastest Growing Firms.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Wilson: Our growth has to do with a few factors—our people, our process, and our approach. First, our people have been able to create efficiencies that allow us to provide industry-leading data for our clients. The second factor is our ability to provide real-time information, not just historical information. Lastly, our relationship-based approach with our clients has proven successful, as opposed to just looking at our clients as transactions.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Wilson: In our industry, there is no such thing as "business as usual." This year like all the others has been full of surprises, but this is why we are in this industry. We love the challenges each year brings. Our ability to adapt and overcome allows us to separate ourselves from our competitors.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2020? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Wilson: 2020 will be our best year yet. We will experience change, implement new ideas and strategies, and will always be looking to redefine and improve ourselves. We deal with clients that are the backbone of America, but they are under attack. With this in mind, our mission is to view everything as an opportunity to use our expertise to help some of the best leaders in the country.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2020?
Wilson: In 2020 we will be redefining and pushing ourselves further than we have in years past, and with that will come some growing pains; however, without experiencing those pains and embracing those changes, there would be no growth.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Wilson: This is a huge honor, and honestly our employees have put in all the hard work to get us this far. Without this team's efforts, we would never be where we are today. This recognition validates the hard work and sacrifices of all the employees that make this place so great. This distinction also provides our clients a greater sense of confidence and assurance knowing they're working with a firm that continues to grow and be a leader in the industry.
